The Odds of Winning The Euromillions
Knowing how to win Euromillions requires understanding the game’s challenges. The National Lottery Euromillions game is a 5/50 lottery format. So, the rule is to pick five numbers from 1 to 50. With this format, there are 2,118,760 ways to combine numbers.

This means that a 5-even combination will give you 2 or 3 favorable shots of winning in 100 attempts, playing the Euromillions game.
As you can see, a combination such as 2-4-6-8-10 offers a very low success-to-failure ratio.
Meanwhile, there are 690,000 ways to combine 3-odd and 2-even numbers. If we calculate the odds, we get:
Odds_favor(3-odd-2-even) = 690,000 / 1,428,760 = 1:2
Simply put, a 3-odd-2-even combination will give you 33 favorable shots of winning in 100 attempts.
If we compare the two classes of combinations, we can see a big difference:
The way to explain the table above is that if you play the 0-odd-5-even combination, then expect that you have 2 million ways to fail, and thereby you have less opportunity to win.
On the other hand, if you play a more balanced combination, such as a 3-odd-2-even, you have more favorable shots to win.
Because there are more 3-odd-2-even than 5-even combinations in the Euromillions game, naturally, lotto draws tend to pick combinations from this dominant group.

Фонд Усиления (Booster Fund) определен для пополнения джекпота, например чтобы увеличить его сумму в случае нескольких аккумуляций подряд. Разыгрываемая сумма каждой недели определяется заранее участвующими лотереями.
- Шанс на выигрыш любого приза равен 1 из 13
- Шанс на совпадение ни одного из 50 основных номеров и обоих счастливых звездных номеров равен примерно 1 из 95. Это означает, что этот случай более вероятен, чем совпадение 2х основных номеров и одного счастливого звездного номера (1 из 46). Однако, для совпадения 2х счастливых звездных номеров нет призовой категории.
- Начиная с 10 мая 2011 года 8,6 % призового фонда определено на «фонд усиления» (Booster Fund), который может быть использован для увеличения суммы джекпота.
- Ожидаемый выигрыш обозначается только примерно, и конечная сумма варьируется в зависимости от полного призового фонда и количества билетов, выигрывших по каждой призовой категории.
- Если джекпот не был выигран, он аккумулируется до следующего розыгрыша.
Новые правила относительно аккумуляций были введены 7 ноября 2009 года:
- Был введен лимит для джекпота. Джекпот может аккумулироваться до того момента, как его сумма достигнет EUR185.000.000 или более. Далее джекпот остается на этой отметке, и все дополнительные призовые деньги добавляются к победителю следующей призовой категории, в которой есть победитель (5 основных номеров + 1 счастливый звездный номер или даже только 5 основных номеров).
- После того, как джекпот, достигший установленного лимита, выигран, лимит увеличивается на EUR5.000.000. (Другими словами, после того, как джекпот, достигший лимита в EUR185.000.000 выигран, следующий лимит устанавливается на отметке в EUR190.000.000, и в следующий раз — EUR195.000.000 и так далее).
- Если джекпот размером в EUR190.000.000 не выигран, он останется на той же отметке до момента обретения своего победителя, и все дополнительные призовые деньги будут добавлены следующей призовой категории, по которой определится победитель.
12 января 2012 года было введено новое правило, которое ограничивает джекпот на отметке EUR190.000.000 без возможности увеличения лимита. И если джекпот остается невыигранным после 2х розыгрышей, деньги распределяются между победителями следующей призовой категории.
